OK for the price paid.

The bike itself is generally very good for the price. It took me less time to assemble as it did to unpack (wanted to keep the zip-ties in case of return).
Problems with the order:
I ordered the BK15M 3.0 (750W, 48V, 3.0 tyres) and the box arrived within 2 days via UPS. We ordered a BK6M at the same time and that stayed in the CanPar storage for 5 or 6 days before being delivered after 8 days).
I assembled the bike and realised that HitWay had sent the BK15M (500W, 36V, 2.125 tyres), which retailed at $100.00 less than the BK15M 3.0 .
I contacted Hitway and they responded next day that I could accept the bike or return it (at their cost), so I printed up the return label.
I thought I would try the bike anyway, and found it to be quite sufficient for my needs, so decided that, to avoid all the extra inconvenience of disassembly, attempting to repack and returning it, along with having to wait for the replacement, I would keep it.
I informed Hitway of my decision and they refunded me the $100.00 quickly.
Now to the bike itself -
Pros
Fast delivery.
Adequate power for my needs. I use it mainly as a pure pedal power bike when riding with my wife at 15 kph, and only use the assist for hills. On my own, I ride faster and use more assist. The pedal assist works very well.
Have only ridden 70 kms so far, and battery is at 2 bars, so I think the advertised distance per charge is somewhat inflated.
Comfortable to ride. Gears change smoothly. Pedal assist comes on fairly smoothly. Tyres are good for bike trail riding and asphalt.
Cons
The derailleur gears are poor. This is a 7 speed and the tension bar shows "6 speed". I do not know if that is a problem, but I tried (multiple times) to tune the gears (have had derailleurs for 50+ years) and they either jump between 1 and 3 missing #2, or when adjusted minimally jump between 5 and 7, missing #6. I leave it so I can use #6 as I use the higher gears more frequently. Mid range are fine either way. I wrote to Hitway a few days ago, but have received no response to date.
Unable to raise the handlebars.
Suggestions
Purchase mudguards. When the trail is wet or muddy, it spays up your front and your back.

Overall, for the money it is a reasonable bike.
I lowered my rating by one star for the shipping error and one for the derailleur gears.

Great bike overall. Good speed and handling. Tires are great for off terrain use such as snow mud and gravel. The speed maxes out at 32 but it's possible to lift it to 39.9. That speed is great gets me wherever I need to go. The battery is well made, stays protected from light to medium rain. It's annoying having to carry it everywhere to keep it safe from theft.
